The biggest millstone around our necks are the herd mentality that we grew up with. We were forced into clusters (communities, religious groups, schools etc.) from a young age.

The idea that something might change cause most of us discomfort. The bigger the perceived change the higher or stress levels. It is thus virtually futile to expect your child, partner or for that matter anybody else to change. Some of us live in relative luxury, but still dread the idea that we might be confronted with unexpected change. The amazing thing is that even those that live under horrific conditions experience the same trepidation when the prospect of change is mentioned to them. You have just read the real reason why we fail to improve and upgrade our lives notwithstanding all the books we read, courses and religious services we attend. We might for a few fleeting moments gather some courage and undertake to change, but fall back into our comfort zones when the initial motivation wears off.

The biggest millstone around our necks are the herd mentality that we grew up with. We were forced into clusters (communities, religious groups, schools etc.) from a young age. You will notice that more and more individuals are breaking away from their groups and take on life as an individual. These individuals gradually woke up to the fact that massive forces engineer society, for control purposes into clusters. Children of a decade or two ago began to panic when the prospect of getting kicked out of their church, school, community or club were presented to them. The threat of potential excommunication from church historically filled church members with panic. There are huge numbers of people around the world that finally grasped that they will only grow and evolve when they as individual accept responsibility for their experiences, choices, feelings and actions. Those that woke up and today understand that it is imperative to become independent thinkers. These individuals are courageous pioneers.

It might initially seem like a daunting undertaking, but independent thinker soon realize that it is much easier than they initially anticipated. The act of taking personal responsibility remove the massive collective pressure by society. They start living an authentic life where they make choices and accept full responsibility for the outcomes that they bring to their doorstep. They are no longer polluted by the herd mentality that kept society in a mental jail since the beginning of time. When you accept full responsibility you put yourself in a power position. You stop blaming God, Satan or for that matter anybody else if things fail to work out as expected. You also know that your intentions decide the direction that your life will unfold. Good positive intentions that are sustained can only produce an acceptable outcome. To summarize them. You need to accept responsibility for your actions and choices. This is possible if you become courageous and remain open to the lessons that life present you with daily.

I trip out on that a lot. People who are absolutely miserable would still rather stay in that misery than make a break for the better but unknown. It really manifests itself when you see a woman who is being abused and they STILL would rather stay in danger (of even possibly death!) than go onto their own. I think that we as humans are a lot more sheep-like than we would like to recognize or understand.

Thank you for your wise words. I agree with your conclusion. Society is currently set up in a manner where woman do not get a fair deal on many fronts. She is often dis-empowered and stripped of so many resource that “escape” is just not possible. Wishing a a pleasant day!
