Your parents/teachers/leaders/culture/friends/family have all had a hand in creating exactly the set of beliefs you use to operate in your world.

.

Think about your life for a moment. Are you exactly where you want to be? Are you doing work that you love? Are you free to travel when and where you wish? Are your relationships fulfilling? Are you financially free or are you tied to a job you hate?

Now answer this question for me: Do you want to know exactly why you are not living a life of ease, comfort, and happiness? Yes, of course you do. Pay close attention:

“The only reason you are not living the life of your dreams is because unconstructive beliefs were programmed into your mind as a child.”

Let me say it in a way that might be easier to understand: “The only reason you don’t have enough money is because you still believe the bullshit they taught you as a kid.”

That’s it… When you were young, you learned certain “facts” about life that became a part of your subconscious operating system. This system now automatically creates the life you are living. If you are not living exactly the life that you desire, then these beliefs need to be changed… it’s as simple as that.

Do you realize that you have been brainwashed?

Most people don’t want to hear this “inconvenient truth.” But most people are also living hopeless lives of quiet desperation. Not that there’s anything wrong with that… but I know that you are not like that. I doubt you would still be reading if you didn’t realize that you are capable of much, much more.

In fact, you HAVE been brainwashed. Of course, we are all brainwashed. Every single person on the planet is brainwashed with a certain set of beliefs which automatically operates his or her life.

Your parents, your teachers, your leaders, your culture, and your friends and family have all had a hand in creating exactly the set of beliefs you use to operate in your world.

Is this bad? Only if the beliefs you accepted as a child are not helping you now. Of course, if you are happy, healthy and successful then you have a subconscious operating system that works. Count your blessings and enjoy your life.

However, if there is some area of your life which you would like to change, then it is vital that you learn how to.

Let’s go back to the beginning. The REAL reason you don’t have enough money is because you believe something you learned as a child which is keeping you from having enough money. Perhaps your father told you that rich people are crooks. Well, of course you don’t want to be considered a crook in your father’s eyes, so you will never be rich. Your subconscious programming will make sure that you are never able to make money.

Or perhaps your parents always fought about money. What did your young mind learn? You learned that money causes trouble. You don’t want trouble, so you avoid money.

Or maybe you are spiritually inclined. But you were probably taught that “money is the root of all evil.” And you don’t want to be evil, do you? So what happens in your inner programming? It will automatically sabotage your attempts to get money, in order to “protect” you from being evil.

The people who annoy, oppose, hurt, reject and betray us are our best teachers.

A story worth sharing.....

Spiritual growth is a process of atonement and the undoing of our mistaken beliefs and delusions. It is a journey towards wholeness, during which we attempt to master our minds, manage our emotions and conquer our fears. We do not live in a vacuum and we cannot get through life without other people. This is for a very good reason: In isolation, self-actualisation would be limited or non-existent and we need to be exposed to other people to grow. Personal healing is the main purpose for being among other people. Relationships offer us the opportunity to re-create ourselves, re-member who we are and to develop our potential. Relationships present us with ample opportunities to change, to grow, to expand our awareness and to increase our vibration.

The modern mystic does not have the privilege of retreating to a monastery, seeking solitude, quieting the mind and spending time in the company of enlightened Masters for spiritual growth purposes. Today we are faced with the challenge of maintaining a job, paying the bills, caring for a family and dealing with the pressures of our modern lifestyle, while attending to our spiritual growth. Times have changed and we should regard our homes and our work places as monasteries or temples where we can learn and grow spiritually. Therefore, every situation, encounter and relationship provides opportunities for self-mastery. Every person, situation and problem you encounter is ateacher. Every single individual you meet can also be perceived as astudent. If you perceive others as students, it encourages you to be the best possible role model for the other person. We are all students, but also teachers – instruments of the Divine. We have a divine purpose or contract that we need to fulfill.

The people, with whom we develop close and intimate relationships and who play a significant role in our lives, are there for a purpose. Some of the people we encounter are supportive, loving, kind and positive towards us. We would not believe in ourselves or develop self-worth if people did not listen to us, value our judgement, trust or love us. We need love and support, but supportive behaviour does not provide us with significant opportunities for growth. The people who annoy, oppose, hurt, reject and betray us are our best teachers. We should cherish and be grateful for the people who elicit negative emotions. While dealing with a difficult interpersonal issue, it may be hard to comprehend or understand why it happened. It is often in retrospect that we realise that the hardship or suffering we endured, enabled us to develop inner strength and build character – qualities essential for future success.

Early in life, we tend to focus on what we possess, on what we have achieved, or what we do for a living. Later in life, we realise that a meaningful life depends on how we are and what we have become. Change is the only constant in life and we are always in the process of becomingWe were given the power of choice and our relationships present us with opportunities to decide who we are and what type of person we want to become. Our relationships have the potential to bring out the best or the worst in us. The rapport and relationships that we establish with others, present us with ample opportunities to develop virtues such as unconditional love, empathy, tolerance, compassion, patience, trust, integrity, honesty, loyalty, sincerity and forgiveness. The company we keep and some teachers give us the opportunity to develop vices such as impatience, dishonesty, indifference, apathy, cruelty and mean, deceitful or violent behaviour. The power of choice rests within each individual.

Don’t Use This Planet Like a Waiting Room.

Keep the following image in mind the next time you feel cheated or devastated about something. You cannot un-fry an egg or change what transpired into what could or should have been according to your expectations. It is vital to accept “WHAT IS” and move on as soon as possible. The best thing to do is to learn from what transpired and then to continue walking forward with bold steps towards your final objective. It is often so difficult to understand that our failures are part of our lessons. Our biggest failures often turn out to be our best teaches. We are on this plane to evolve and to grow up and not to fall in the trap thinking that mistakes are some kind of weakness. That is the way that our ego thinks. The ego use guilt and fear to protect its control over our mind and heart.

Nobody took the time to teach you how to cope with failure.

Are you a WRITER who does not write a PAINTER who does not paint, an ENTREPRENEUR who never starts a venture? Do you feel that SOMETHING prevents you from ACHIEVING your full potential? Then it might be an appropriate moment to take a hard look at how your RESISTENCE arrested your ability to take decisive and sustained action. New Series – No. 15

.

FAIL YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS

.

If there is one thing that the system failed to teach you it is how to cope with failure. Most of us do not have the slightest idea about the power and dynamics of failure. We grew up with this perception of opposites. You are either a winner or a loser. Nobody took the time to teach you how to cope with failure. You were lead to believe that life is all about winning, but your teachers, parents and preachers lied to you.

If they understood the real dynamics of life they would have prepared you for failure as well. They made us all fear failure. They linked shame and guilt to failure and even added a sprinkle of sin to complete this warped success picture that most of us hold in our minds.

When you play the game of life you soon discover that you are on the losing end much more often than you ever anticipated. When you lose, your self-image and your self-esteem are finally reduced to a pulp because of your wrong perceptions about losing.

What the people that were responsible for your preparation for the game of life forgot to teach you was that there is no shame in losing. We tend to look at life through our rose-colored glasses. We play to win, but soon discover that the perfect score is nothing more than a fantasy.

In real life the best of the best do not play a perfect round of golf every time. The kicker in rugby does not get the ball through the poles with every attempt. The super athlete does not take the podium on the number one spot every time. The sooner you accept the reality of life is that you will be faced with failure for as long as you breath the sooner you will come to term with the art of winning. When you lose you are not a piece of rubbish or failure, but on the day just fell short of your full potential.

Study the super stars in sport and you will see one powerful similarity. You will see that the champions do not only know how to win, but how to lose as well. They understand the reality and dynamics of winning and losing. They know that true champions show character; they know how to put their defeats behind them. Champions never cry over spilled milk. They learn from their defeats, but then they put it right out of their minds. They are champions because they mastered the art of losing and that is why they are the best of the best.

SPREAD THE WORD

If you have a son or daughter then find him or her right now and talk to him about winning and losing. If you are a parent that makes your child feel like shit when he or she fails at something, stop it right now.

If you are a manager and you want to double your production, stop projecting your fear of losing on your staff. If you are a teacher then teach your students that it is ok to fail as long as they learn from their experience. Teach the child that he or she will most probably fail until their final day on this planet and might as well come to term with this reality.

Stop talking about winning for a while and teach the students how to recover after being knocked down. There is no shame in losing and it is not God’s way of punishing you for some mistake you made. Failure is the hard reality of life, a fact that can never be denied.

Let us teach our children that champions are not only measured on their wins, but on their ability to cope with their losses. Take the pressure off your kids, friends and family and show them that they have the power and ability to overcome any adversity or failure that life may throw in their path. Some of the best authors, doctors, lawyers and athletes were conned out of their heritage by this false perception. The perception that winning is the full story about making a success of life.

They feed off your energy, money, insecurity or some other benefit that their association with you brings them.

Let us not fear failure any longer my friend. Let us use failure as our stepping-stones to success. Failure can become our grave or bridge. The choice is in our hands my friend. Spread the word that failure is ok. Failure is not the end, but part of the process.
