YOUR HEAD IS LIKE A TOOLBOX

.

 decionsaa

.

YOU MAKE A THOUSAND CHOICES EVERY DAY!

.

YOUR MIND IS FULL OF THOUGHTS OF LOVE, JUDGEMENT, PEACE, FEAR, GRACE, GUILT, JOY, ANGER, FORGIVENESS, ATTACK, LAUGHTER, WORK, PLAY, JUDGMENT, KINDNESS, ISOLATION AND ONENESS ETC!

.

YOUR HEAD IS LIKE A TOOLBOX: Everyday you make a thousand choices. You choose what to wear, where to go, who to meet, what to eat and what to do. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, YOU decide WHAT TO THINK. One thing is sure and that is that your day will not be better than you thoughts.

Just close your eyes for a moment and see if you can visualise this open toolbox and if you can see the hundreds of tools that are neatly placed in this toolbox. Now look if you can see the maker’s name on these tools. The creator of these tools (thoughts and perceptions) is you. You created thousands of thoughts and perceptions (tools) about everything since your childhood.

When confronted with any situation or problem you reach into this toolbox and take out what you think the most appropriate tool and attempt to fix the problem. It is estimated that your mind thinks at least 2,500 thoughts an hour. Every thought that you think is a tool (perception) that you have that you imagine would work best under specific circumstances. This thought process continue day and night and will do so for the rest of your life.

I am convinced that we think ourselves to a standstill. We never stop playing with these tools in our toolbox and can hardly ever really relax for a while. If we are not faced with a problem or task that needs completion we still continue to take out these tools and mentally rehears and contemplate how we will use them should something that we fear become a reality.

We are forever thinking and scheming and never become still and tranquil inside. Our bodies might seem relaxed, but deep inside our heads this thought process continues churning around. What I am most worried about is that most of the tools that you have in our toolboxes is very old and outdated.

Many of the modern problems that you face cannot be repaired using these tools. If you take a modern mechanic’s toolbox and you place the toolbox of a mechanic of fifty years ago next to it you will find that there are major discrepancies. When you are confronted with something that needs repair and you do not have the right tool for the task at hand it can be very frustrating. We usually improvise and try using some other tool and hope that it will also get the job done.

When you are faced with a problem you need to select the right tool for the task at hand. If you do not have the tool in your toolbox it can complicate your life. What most people seem to ignore is that it is sometimes better not to reach for your toolbox when faced with a problem. Sometimes you need time to pass or need to leave the problem with its rightful owner. How well you use your tools is usually reflected in the world you see around you. What would you do if you were faced with any or all of the following?

You get a flat tire on your way to an important customer or meeting. You can fall apart, develop a migraine and think that life is against you or you can take out the right tools (patience and reality) and take care of the problem in a relaxed manner.

You have been working on the computer for hours and suddenly lose all your work. You can drop dead with a heart attack, think that God hates you or you can take out the right tool (sanity and reality) and begin over again and remember this time to make a backup your work.

A lover or wife possibly cheated on you. You can go crazy and get an assassin to take her potential lover out, think that you are a failure or you can take out the right tool (no fear of loss) and get on with your life.

When you have the right tools in your toolbox it makes life a lot easier. The choices we make are vital in our lives. The more quality choices we make during any given day the higher the probability of success and peace of mind.

I suggest that you equip your toolbox with the best tools you can lay your hands on. If you discover that one of your tools are outdated or that a more modern version is available. How would you react if your TV packed up and a technician that obviously knows very little about electronics arrived at your house with only a sledgehammer and a few other primitive tools in his toolbox? I am sure that you will send him away and find someone better qualified and equipped for the task.

You might sometimes be like this incompetent and poorly equipped technician indicated above if you do not often update your tools (thoughts) in your toolbox. You can also have all the right tools in your toolbox and never use them because you are afraid that you might make a mistake.

You must remember that happiness and success is always just one thought (tool) away. You should remember when you find it difficult to cope with something that one new tool (thought) could change your life. One fresh thought and one new idea can change your life from pain and suffering to success and peace of mind.

You are what you think. Your choices that you make on a moment-to-moment basis decide your fate and future. You are really what you think. You can never feel or perform better than the ongoing thoughts that you allow to occupy your mind!

He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.

.

Today I’m concentrating on one of sports all time

champions…Muhammad Ali!

.

Here’s the top ten quotes of ‘The Greatest’

.

10. Age is whatever you think it is. You are as old as you

think you are.

9. At home I am a nice guy: but I don’t want the world to

know. Humble people, I’ve found, don’t get very far.

8. He who is not courageous enough to take risks will

accomplish nothing in life.

7. I never thought of losing, but now that it’ s happened,

the only thing is to do it right. That’s my obligation to

all the people who believe in me. We all have to take

defeats in life.

6. I’m so fast that last night I turned off the light switch

in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark.

5. What keeps me going is goals.

4. It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief.

And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things

begin to happen.

3. I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.

2. I hated every minute of training, but I said, “Don’t quit.

Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.”

And the most thought provoking one…

1. I figured that if I said it enough, I would convince the

world that I really was the greatest.

No one is perfect. Accept yourself as you are.

.

If you are not feeling good and happy in this life, then it is impossible to feel good with yourself. You might feel a kind of anxiety or discomfort in each moment, each event and each situation.

Maybe you would like to have some courage in certain occasions. Maybe you do not dare to speak in public or ask a question because you are afraid from others judgments and misunderstandings. Anxiety and panic attacks will result from such a scheme of thoughts.

In order to overcome anxiety and feel the courage to achieve tasks, the primary thing to do is to be honest with yourself. Honesty is the synonym of courage and self confidence.

If you feel anxious when you have to face something or somebody, you undoubtedly do not believe sufficiently in you. However, more you doubt in yourself and the more you will put barriers in the way of your self improvement. You will have very big difficulties to take yourself in charge.

So you might be asking yourself on how to overcome anxiety and have some courage when you have to face some situations?

What can I do to keep a strong self confidence without being disturbed by events and situations ?

This method is your first step to overcome anxiety. It is composed from 6 practical steps that will help you to feel well and happy. Consider this method as a start for your self esteem and confidence recovery.

1. Learn to know yourself:

Take a sheet of paper and describe the way you see yourself. Without showing your sheet, ask 2 or 3 of your best friends to describe the way they see you. You will be able to note many differences between your own vision and theirs. You have to be sure that the others cannot know a lot about you. But each one of their remarks can constitute a very interesting starting point so you can begin to analyze yourself deeply and honestly.

2. Accept yourself as you are:

If the objective of this analyze will make you notice the good points in your personality, it will also indicates you the wrong ones. You have to be able to handle all the critics from your best friends because all the negative points should appear after this analyze. If you think that what was told to you by your close relations is justified, don not make a drama. No one is perfect. All the negative points can be fixed and substitute by good points that will help you to adapt in society.

3. Be honest towards yourself:

As we mentioned above, honesty is a sign of courage and a first step to overcome anxiety. While becoming honest with yourself, you will admit and agree to be somebody of distressed for example. You will realize that it is not awful. Starting from this recognition and this acceptance, you will be able to accept and love yourself as you are, and on the other hand you will begin to eradicate panic attacks.

4. Act, act and act:

Having recognized and agreed that you have a problem somewhere, being conscious of this problem and wanting to improve, you have to act in a positive way .Acting means that the problem will be solved. Not taking action will lead you to the real failure. Lastly, it is while testing and failing that you will succeed.

5. Shut down your interior criticism:

All of us and certainly you, who is suffering from anxiety and panic attacks, have little voices in your brain that judges you and criticize you. In order to improve yourself and overcome anxiety, you do not really need to hear these voices. Sometimes they might be telling you that you are a loser, you are in late, you have to work 20 hours a day in order to succeed, etc…..These little bottles of poison are not allowing you to be calm and Zen. The way to shut them down is to take several seconds in a day and ask yourself if you are anxious or not. If you are feeling sad and the answer is that you are anxious, then you have to repeat the opposite sentence of what you are hearing. Ex: I should not be late otherwise it will be catastrophic, so you should say, if i am five minutes before the meeting then i will be Zen. Eradicate everything negative.

6. Accept the idea of failure:

You have to know and to be convinced that failure is a very good thing in life. You should know that it is not because you failed to achieve a task or to do something that you are not worth anything. You have certainly in the mind a lot of the big names in history and in the world that knew failures. The failure is a must in order to succeed and achieve our objectives. The small difference between a loser and a winner is that a loser commits the mistakes twice and the winner once. The failure does not kill “What does not kill me makes me stronger” Frederic Nietzsche. When you are convinced of these ideas, all the pressure that you had in the past will go away. This calm will lead you to better results and efficiency.

There is a misconception that you need to feel something or do something when triggered.

.

We live in a “button” pushing society today. We all have a natural tendency to push back when we feel someone activated one of our “buttons”. We allow people to trigger, anger, anxiety, fear of loss, discomfort in us daily with what they say, do or fail to say and do. The only way that you can get the habitual button pushers out of your life is to stop reacting and responding on their triggers.

The fact of the matter is that people will continue pushing your buttons and they will continue to control you and your emotions while you respond to their silly games. I would suggest that you take a few days and observe how you act and react automatically when your partner, friends or even strangers say or do something that automatically trigger a negative emotional responds in you. Do not judge yourself or the button pushers. Simply become an observer and see if you can identify who and what tend to bring out negative and destructive reaction patterns.

Learn to stop reacting and responding when you notice that you have been triggered. Mentally simply detach and say and do nothing. There is a misconception that you need to feel something or do something when triggered. This is a false perception. The “button pushers” in your life conditioned you to react and respond in a specific manner to enhance their control. Watch their faces and listen to their tone of voice when you stop reacting the way you have been trained. You will be surprised how quickly they will either try harder to regain their control or stop this destructive habit.

The simple art of detachment can change your life. When you learn to let go you bring a brand new dimension into your life. Lear to detach and let go when anyone, yes even someone in the traffic or you child with his or her attitude of entitlement push your buttons. You will be happier, healthier and will most probably live longer as well.

It is NATURAL to experience UPS AND DOWNS in life.

.

.

.

It is NATURAL to experience UPS AND DOWNS in life. There has never been anyone ever in the history of man that only experienced UP (high) periods in his or her life. Look around you and you will notice that everything presents unique CYCLES. Everyone goes through GROWTH and REDUCTION cycles. It will be crazy to feel like a victim when you experience a DOWN period in any area of your life. You are not in a DOWN period because some kind of punishment is metered out to you. You are not in a DOWNWARD phase because you are a SINNER or because you are INFERIOR in any way. Repeat as often as you can today. It is NATURAL to experience LOW periods in any area of my life. It is NATURAL to experience a general DOWN period as well. See the following image in your head while you repeat these words of wisdom.
